I have found with the people that I help that using minerals gives us a strong foundation to work with.
On a personal level I am extremely grateful for the support of minerals!!

When you start to think in a downward spiral, or become distracted or focussing on negative “unwanted” thoughts - of the past, the present or the future you simply tell your brain “Useful Thoughts Only”
The trick is catching yourself in the act, but I suspect you may have a few (or even many) opportunities each day to practice this technique. The great thing is, even if you realise after quite a while that you have been riding the unhelpful thought train, you can stop at any time and tell yourself - USEFUL THOUGHTS ONLY.

I hear people saying things like “This is my life now”. They say this is a resigned way, as if they are unable to do anything powerful to change their situation. While self acceptance and understanding is important in life, a growth mindset perspective means not knowing is a signal to LEARN rather than quit.
Developing a growth mindset allows you to realise you don’t know something yet and see that as a sign to learn.

Positivity doesn’t just feel good in the moment, it opens us up and allows us to transform for the better, allowing us to discover and build new skills, new connections, new knowledge and new ways of being.
Learning new skills, developing healthy habits, and having more useful ways of being are all key in your recovering well process.

Exercising regularly is a healthy practice. While exercising needs to be actively included in the schedule, and it can take a bit of motivation to get moving, the rewards are worth the effort.
The fitness I have allows me to enjoy my activities on holidays and weekends with friends and family.

I have had a busy week in which I have been fortunate enough to see Blenheim, Nelson, Canterbury, Southland and Otago as well as spend time with extended family and close friends.
Although I was travelling for work, I got to see some beautiful parts of the country I live in and I am grateful for that.
Traveling that much in such a short time has meant early mornings, lots of driving and low sleep. In short, taking care of myself has been done "on the run".
As I come home, I am very aware that what I feel I need most is chill out time with my family. "Seeing my children grow up” was my number one motivating factor to do all that was necessary (that I was able to) in order to stay alive after my cancer diagnosis so I am honouring that instead of writing what I had planned to write about moving well and exercise.
I still have a lot to share about exercise and moving well - my views and my experiences and discoveries.
I am still fully committed to my "blogging once a week for the year" project.
But if I didn’t follow my own advice of taking care of myself then my advice wouldn’t be worth considering.
Thank you for your understanding, normal “service” will resume next week.

Part of my healing was that I needed to include self-care, taking care of myself and these therapeutic/ rehabilitation exercises were part of this (as was the lymphatic self-massage that I did in the morning).
Now that I am further along in my recovery I definitely feel that one of the things that works best for me is a warm up routine to support my flexibility and movement in general, and also help my lymph flow since I have had lymph nodes removed.

We need to re-calibrate to focus on NUTRIENT dense rather than CALORIE dense foods.
What you eat is meant to nourish you.
Support gut health (repair from the treatments and digestion from now on)
Energise us - and have our energy be stable and building over time (Food is meant to make is feel good).
Provide us with all the nutrients we need to healthy processes in our bodies (including strong immune function)
Support elimination of “toxins” so they don’t get stored in our fat tissues “for later” and build up.
Taste good (this is a controversial and subjective subject, even within my own household.)
Luckily our diet has this capability.
